The Position

Classification: HS3 - HS25 
Salary per hour (exc. super): $ $41.65
Hours per fortnight: 48 hours
Employment Status: Ongoing Part Time

The Home Care Trainer is an integral member of the Community Services team, responsible for supporting the development and capability of staff within Home Care Services. This role plays a vital part in enhancing service quality by delivering targeted training and education aligned with best practice and client needs.

The Home Care Trainer works in close partnership with home care leaders to identify staff learning and development requirements, support the onboarding of new employees, and foster the ongoing growth of both trainees and experienced team members. The role also contributes to building workforce capacity by supporting staff to work safely and effectively within their scope of practice.

Key focus areas for training include Manual Handling, Dementia Care, Falls Management, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), and Medication Management (within scope). By coordinating and delivering relevant, practical education, the Home Care Trainer ensures staff are confident, competent, and equipped to provide high-quality, person-centred care in the community.

The Community and Public Health Services Division has a primary focus on improving the health outcomes of the communities in our region.  With a range of local and regional programs supporting place-based health promotion, prevention, care and support, they work collaboratively with other Divisions and regional partnerships and networks to support quality outcomes.  The Division has a strong leadership role in the Loddon Mallee Region and is committed to ensuring processes are in place to deliver on our Division.
