About the role
As a CNHC Disability Support Worker, will be engaged across multiple settings to provide and facilitate safe, responsive disability care and support for our clients living with disabilities in their homes and other community- based settings. This role will involve implementing care plans, on various levels of care support activities. The ideal candidate will excel in caring for individuals living with a disability with varying support needs to enhance physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development.
Duties and responsibilities of a Support Worker are unique and varied because those we support have unique needs. Tasks may include assistance in mobility, personal care and accessing the community. Whilst this can be a diverse role, the focus is always on supporting a person to lead a fulfilling and more independent life.
You will be employed on a casual role and will have access to a company car if required.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential for the role:
- Preferrably female
- Physically Strong (able to lift 20kgs) – no lifting on shifts, this is just prevention/precaution
- Height above 5'3- this is due to client's bed height & shower controls
- Need to be well spoken, respectful, and empathetic
- You will be required to complete personal care (showering, dressing, changing continence aids)
- Meal preparation and cooking, helping with everyday tasks
- Knowledge & experience with MS, ABI, Diabetes & hoisting
- More precise shift instructions will be given to successful applicants
Available Shifts:
· 8pm-7am Sleepover shifts- (this can turn into an active overnight shifts more often then not)
· Shadow shift/Training provided
· ADHOC shifts – We get short term referrals, some may go two weeks, or two months, Flexibility is an advantage.
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
Knowledge & experience with MS, ABI, Diabetes, Peg Feeding, medication & hoisting.
Flexibility with shifts can do both Day & NS (8:30am-2pm & 8pm-7am) & Short notice shifts.
Essential checks:
- Employee Working with Children Check
- Current National Police Check
- First Aid & CPR certifications
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
