About the role

As a Senior NDT Technician at APEC Inspection, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and integrity of critical infrastructure and assets. Based in Mackay, QLD, this full-time position will see you utilising your extensive expertise in non-destructive testing (NDT) to conduct thorough inspections and evaluations. Your work will be vital in supporting the company's commitment to delivering high-quality services that protect both people and property.

What you'll be doing

  • Performing a wide range of advanced NDT techniques, including ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and liquid penetrant testing
  • Interpreting and documenting test results to identify potential issues or defects
  • Collaborating with engineers and other technical staff to develop customised inspection plans
  • Providing technical guidance and training to junior NDT technicians
  • Maintaining detailed records and ensuring compliance with all relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of NDT processes and procedures

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as an NDT technician, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality work
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in a wide range of NDT methods and techniques
  • Ability to interpret complex technical data and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Relevant NDT certifications (e.g. AINDT, PCN Level II or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
