As a Press Brake and Roll Operator at PRESSCO STEEL PTY LTD, you will play a vital role in the manufacturing of high-quality steel products. This full-time position is based in Hope Valley, WA 6165, and involves operating specialized machinery to shape and form metal components to exacting specifications.

About the Role:
As a Press & Roll Operator at you will work with a range of advanced equipment, including:
500 Tonne Press brake
110 Tonne press brake
Plate Roll 3M
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years proven experience as a press or roll operator.
• Forklift ticket (desirable)
• Willingness to learn
The successful candidate must have the following skills/qualifications:
• Must have experience or willingness to learn to run a Press Brake and Plate Roll machines
• Attention to detail is essential
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Be able to work effectively in a team environment and autonomously
• Must be able to comprehensively read and understand drawings
• Excellent communication skills
• Must take pride in their work
• Punctuality, reliability, efficiency , sound work ethic and initiative essential
• Must be able to stand for long periods and be able to operate the foot press on the floor.
• Candidates with a stable work history and experience within a manufacturing environment is preferential.
• Salary will depend on experience
Key Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate brake press machines to accurately bend and shape metal plates and sheets.
• Interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine the specifications for each job.
• Select and install the appropriate tooling and machine settings for each operation.
• Position and align metal plates and sheets onto the press brake machine according to precise measurements.
• Adjust machine settings, including speed, pressure, and depth, to achieve precise bending and shaping.
• Continuously monitor machine operations, adjusting as needed to maintain efficiency and quality.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet the required dimensions and quality standards.
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning on press brake machines to keep them in optimal working condition.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues or escalate to the maintenance team when necessary.
• Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised workspace to ensure a safe working environment.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Proven experience operating press brake machines with knowledge of various bending techniques.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and production specifications.
• Great communication skills
• Excellent mathematical skills for accurate measurement and calculation of dimensions.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to precision in all bending and shaping tasks.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity when handling metal sheets and plates.
• Knowledge of various metals and their properties in relation to bending operations.
• Good troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving minor machine issues.
• Ability to manage time effectively to meet production deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and problem-solving.
• Capability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
