The Role

We're seeking a dynamic, driven, and strategic Head of Business Development to drive revenue growth and build strong, mutually beneficial commercial, government and philanthropic relationships aligned to Planet Ark's mission.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of $100,000 per annum + commission and super. Planet Ark currently offers a
9-day working fortnight

(67.5 hours), giving staff alternating Fridays off while still receiving full-time pay.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities that grow our revenue while using innovation and market insights to expand opportunities and diversify income streams.
  • Collaborate with the Campaign teams to develop sponsorship packages and compelling value propositions for campaign partnership.
  • Oversee contract negotiations for new and renewing partners.
  • Manage Planet Ark's untied revenue portfolio (public giving, workplace giving, philanthropy).
  • Manage revenue cash flow, providing forecasting and regular reports to the Executive Team and Board.
  • Keep up to date with market trends and attend
    sustainability, CSR and shared value industry events representing Planet Ark.

About You

This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced partnerships professional with strong networks, a commercial mindset, and a passion for the environment.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • A goal-driven, energetic self-starter with at least 5 years' experience in sales, sponsorships and/or fundraising with demonstrated revenue growth success.
  • Passionate about stakeholder engagement with a proven ability to build strong relationships and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Highly connected across corporate, government and/or industry sectors.
  • A strong communicator who can turn complex concepts into compelling partnership opportunities.
  • Quick thinking with the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Passionate about environmental and sustainability issues.

Desirable but not essential:

  • A
    solid understanding of corporate sustainability, environmental campaigning or related issues
    .
  • Experience with philanthropic and donations platforms and opportunities.
  • Experience in leading a team.
  • Experience in the financial services sector.

This is a Sydney-based, hybrid role, however, we will consider applications from Melbourne for the right candidate.

Candidates must have full working rights in Australia (permanent residency or citizenship).
