We are looking for a Mental Health Clinician to join our team in Bega, working with the Sapphire Health and Wellbeing Service (SHaWS) and our Aboriginal Health team.
About The Position
SHaWS is a primary health, mental health, Aboriginal health, drug and alcohol treatment and support service led by Directions, working in collaboration with Katungal Aboriginal Medical Service and Grand Pacific Health and a number of medical practices on the Sapphire Coast. The service offers free, non-judgmental and respectful services including assessment, counselling, case management, therapeutic and support groups, home detoxification support, crisis support, assistance entering and exiting residential rehabilitation services and support for family members and friends impacted by substance use and/or mental health.
Join us, as a Mental Health Clinician As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work collaboratively with consumers and their family/carers to identify their support needs, goals and develop collaborative care plans. In this position, you will provide high quality biopsychosocial assessment, care coordination and evidence-based, focused psychological interventions to consumers, working within a multidisciplinary mental health team, facilitating a holistic and collaborative approach to care which addresses a broad range of social, physical, and emotional needs.
We have a part-time opportunity available (30 hours per week), fixed term until 30 June 2027 with possibility of extension. Hours and days are negotiable

We Are Looking For Someone With
- Current AHPRA registration as a registered psychologist, clinical psychologist, or provisional psychologist, Mental Health Nurse or occupational therapist (accredited in mental health), or accreditation (or willingness to work towards) with the AASW as a mental health social worker or Clinical Registration with PACFA or the ACA.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with consumers and their families, friends, or carers to undertake assessment to determine care needs and provide care coordination and referral support
- Demonstrated skills and experience in providing holistic, evidence-based therapeutic supports
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills and ability work as part of a team as well as independently
