We are currently partnering with a leading mining operation to recruit an experienced
Senior Environmental Advisor
on a 12-month contract basis with the potential to transition to a permanent role afterward. This role offers the chance to join a high performing team of environmental, approvals and community professionals dedicated to delivering strong outcomes across site.

About the Role

Reporting to the Environment Superintendent, you will play a key part in environmental compliance, monitoring, reporting and project work. You'll be working in a supportive and collaborative environment committed to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track environmental monitoring programs across air, water, soil, sediments and waste
  • Assess environmental data and report results against regulatory and site standards
  • Support the development and implementation of Environmental Management Systems, procedures and plans
  • Manage reporting obligations including NGERS, NPI, waste reporting and monthly environmental reports
  • Investigate and report environmental incidents, ensuring timely corrective actions
  • Provide environmental guidance to operations and support ongoing environmental projects
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver innovative solutions and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or a related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years experience in an environmental role within mining (hard rock experience highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of environmental compliance, monitoring and reporting
  • High attention to detail with strong data interpretation and problem solving capability
  • Experience with EMS systems, GIS software and environmental databases
  • Confident communicator able to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines and work both autonomously and within a team
  • Manual driver's licence and willingness to work a site based roster
  • Candidates based within the northern Queensland region or open to relocating are encouraged to apply
