Job Specific role description

The successful candidate/s will have a proven record of accomplishment in the analysis and design of successful business outcomes and strong client engagement. They will develop the Departments understanding of Agile by creating user stories, engaging with business units, facilitating workshops and guiding teams using Agile methodology. They should be able to undertake benefits analysis and realisation, planning and measurement, in addition to broader cost modelling exercises.

Technical skills

Appropriate training in the field with requisite experience. Acceptable training includes any of the following: BABOK v3.0 Core practitioner (with extension courses desirable); or BA-Cube Pathway certifications; or Business Analysis Foundations & Business Process Modelling (LinkedIn Learning); and BPMN Fundamentals (with extension courses desirable) or equivalent.

About the team

Passports IT: is responsible for the sustainment & support of Passport systems. The team includes support, service delivery and development staff; and work closely with other areas providing development, database administration, server infrastructure, networking and desktops services. Systems consisting of a mix of COTS, in-house and vendor developed systems using a variety of technologies including .Net, VB, SmartIQ forms and Java/Wildfly framework; and includes the use of Mainframe, Enterprise Service Buses, Message Queues and Content Management System technologies. Business Engagement and Design (BED): section is responsible for delivering against the outcomes of the Business Analysis function and practice for the Information Management & Technology Division (IMD). As part of the Data & Service Delivery Governance Branch (DAB), this position plays a critical role in defining and articulating business needs, processes, and requirements leveraging a range of tools and techniques (i.e. business rules mapping to legislation, business process modelling (BPMN)) that enable an effective interchange between business stakeholders and technology teams. The position is expected to support and promote consistent practices, tools, and methods in delivering Business Analysis services.

Criteria

Essential criteria

1.Minimum 5 years business analysis experience in software delivery projects is required.

2.Drive and managing business engagement with a focus on ICT systems and departmental reform.

3.Experience working in complex ICT environments dealing with various software solutions including bespoke, off-the-shelf and cloud technology.

4.Produce standard analysis artefacts such as "as-is'/"to-be" business process maps, user stories, high level requirements, functional and non-functional requirements, business and systems rules analysis and mapping, BPMN models, cost benefit analysis and benefits realisation plans.

5.Multi-task and be familiar with a number of different intersecting projects and their respective ICT systems, business processes and broader departmental and whole of government requirements while working with a cross section of business line areas.

6.Experience with agile application development teams, experience working in agile software such as DevOps. Demonstrated ability to work independently or part of a team and achieve successful outcomes for the division. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Pay: $120.00 – $130.00 per hour
