Bridge IT Engineering is seeking a Business Analyst for a federal government department with in Canberra.

The Department requires a Business Analyst to work within a highly skilled team of data specialists to support the delivery of custom data solutions and reporting products. The Business Analyst will work across different projects related to trade data and reporting, and will provide services under the direction of the section director, program delivery manager, and project managers, including:

  • Collaborating across data analysts, data scientist, and business stakeholders to understand and define data requirements and deliver solutions
  • Proactively expand their project and product knowledge through independent research e.g. documents provided by business, intranet articles, and relevant legislative
  • Document clear and useful user requirements for use by data specialists to build reports and other data products adhering to team standards and best practices
  • Ensure quality, completeness and availability of documentation
  • Monitor, prioritise, and assist in resolving product issues
  • Write clear, business meaningful, documentation that explains the intent, purpose, and value add of products and projects
  • Assist with the implementation of defined data governance, security, privacy policies, and standards

Proven experience as a high performing Business Analyst

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Demonstrated ability to provide clear and meaningful user requirements

Ability to collaborate with data users and technical staff in developing visualisation products and reports

Experience working with Power BI or other similar reporting tools

Knowledge of export systems used by the department
