About The Role
We're looking for a
Payroll Processing Senior Associate
who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering accurate, timely payroll services. In this pivotal role, you'll take ownership of weekly payroll processing and provide expert support on payroll-related matters with the utmost confidentiality and care. You'll also play a key role in our exciting system transformation—leading end-to-end testing activities as we transition from Preceda to ADP, ensuring data integrity, system accuracy, and a seamless implementation.

This position is based in Sydney Olympic Park , working 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home after onboarding and induction.

As the Payroll Processing Senior Associate, you will:

  • Manage end-to-end processing of complex payrolls across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly cycles, covering over 100 EBAs and multiple local agreements, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Lead payroll testing and analytical review activities, including system transitions (e.g., Preceda to ADP), to ensure data integrity, identify discrepancies, and support continuous improvement.
  • Provide expert support across payroll systems and workflows, including Workday to Preceda integration, system administration, and troubleshooting to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Ensure legislative and audit compliance, staying informed of regulatory changes, meeting audit requirements, and managing year-end processes such as reconciliations and issuing payment summaries.
  • Deliver specialist payroll advice and training, supporting team development, coaching staff, and assisting customers with EBA interpretation and payroll-related queries.
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting, including termination and redundancy calculations, general ledger reconciliations, and statutory reports (e.g., ABS), while maintaining current SOPs.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrate extensive payroll expertise, including handling weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay runs in complex environments, with strong knowledge of payroll procedures and finance processes.
  • Skilled in payroll testing and data analysis, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and system integrity, while identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Possess a deep understanding of payroll legislation and entitlements, including PAYG, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, Workers Compensation, and Long Service Leave, with expert knowledge in termination calculations.
  • Experienced in interpreting EBAs and awards, providing accurate application across various business units and supporting integration between Workday, Preceda, and ADP Global View.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively, exercising sound judgment in day-to-day operations, with strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and major payroll software.
  • Committed to continuous improvement, with a strong analytical mindset and a focus on quality, efficiency, and producing high-quality documentation and reports.
