Role description: This position is a 12-month contract role, responsible for supporting the Payroll Manager in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing. The Senior Payroll Officer will report directly to the Regional Payroll Manager.   Role accountabilities:

The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with End-to-end payroll process in Australia, constituting approx. 1000 permanent employees and 100 casual employees
  • Provide adequate backup to allow for absences of Payroll Manager, both planned and unforeseen
  • Assistance with Payroll related general ledger activities and assisting with end of month reports, annualised salaries and reconciliation processes
  • Salary Packaging & Leave Reconciliations
  • Assisting with Payroll Tax, Superannuation Lodgements
  • Assisting with Process Improvement Projects
  • Award Interpretation experience and understanding of annualised salaries process
  • Prompt resolution and responses to employee and stakeholder queries
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis
  • Ensuring you are familiar and compliant with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Timesheet reconciliation and compliance, including timecard comparison across different systems to support internal processes.
  • Assistance with payroll systems configuration and maintenance of employee records
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Extensive working knowledge of Sage MicroPay
  • Demonstrated past experience in a similar Australian payroll position, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Current knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to payroll e.g. Single touch payroll
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Professional approach, demonstrated ability to work with people with a variety of backgrounds and seniority
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly, Excel and Outlook
