About the Role
As Finance Officer, you will play a critical role within the Finance Department, ensuring effective financial management and providing guidance across areas including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll support, and financial reporting. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain accurate records, facilitate audits, and implement best financial practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare timely reports.
- Perform month-end accounting entries, adjustments, and reconciliations.
- Coordinate accounts payable and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Administer sundry and residential aged care billing.
- Liaise with contracted payroll departments to support fortnightly payroll processing.
- Assist with internal and external audits and maintain documentation.
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Provide timely responses to financial queries and support department decision-making.
Key Selection Criteria:
Essential:
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and professional guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer-based applications; Oracle experience advantageous.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to the values of Mansfield District Hospital.
Desirable:
- Experience working in the public health sector.
Additional Requirements:
- Police / criminal history check, Working with Children Check, and immunisation clearance.
- Compliance with health, safety, and confidentiality requirements.
