Job Description SummaryReporting into the EHS Manager in Projects and Services, the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Advisor within GE Vernova's Onshore Wind team. You'll support the safe and sustainable delivery of renewable energy during operational service activities by developing, implementing and maintaining EHS systems and programs across multiple wind farm service sites. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant local legislation, ISO standards & 45001), and internal management systems.

You will be a required to travel between sites and to provide expert technical EHS support to sites remotely where necessary. It will be essential to build rapport with key site stakeholders (site managers, clients), and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to proactively manage risk reduction and mitigation processes, drive continuous improvement and develop trust, all while upholding our commitment to sustainability and safety.

Essential Responsibilities

EHS & Compliance Governance

  • Support the implementation of GE Vernova's EHS Management System and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and permits.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with environmental licensing and reporting obligations.
  • Participate in environmental monitoring programs, including waste, water, air, and spill prevention.
  • Support documentation and submittal of reports required under environmental regulations and internal reporting cycles.

Safety & Risk Management

  • Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventative measures.
  • Support toolbox talks, pre-start briefings, and job safety analyses to promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Contribute to site EHS planning, ensuring critical risk areas are effectively managed.

Training & Awareness

  • Deliver EHS training and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
  • Promote continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance through engagement and coaching.

Environmental & Sustainability Initiatives

  • Support implementation of the Environmental and Sustainability strategy for service operations.
  • Participate in waste reduction, water conservation, and carbon footprint initiatives aligned with GE Vernova's Environment, Social, and Governance commitments.

Reporting & Metrics

  • Collect, analyse, and report on EHS performance indicators (KPIs and leading metrics).
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to EHS dashboards, audits, and management reviews.
  • Support preparation for internal and external EHS audits.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety or technical equivalent from an accredited college or university, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an EHS role within construction, energy, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS and Environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience implementing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Ability to obtain Global Wind Organisation (GWO) certification.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time
  • Medical fitness and ability to work at height as per GEV onboarding fitness for work requirements.

Desired Characteristics

  • Cert IV in Training and assessment.
  • Familiarity with GE Vernova's EHS systems and processes (or similar EHS frameworks).
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and work collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • Understanding of ESG frameworks and sustainability reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate and drive change and interact cross-functionally
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Confidently able to facilitate and deliver training and or presentations to a diverse audience
  • Have domain expertise in one or more of the following: Electrical Safety and LOTO requirements, crane safety, construction safety, fall prevention, confined space.
  • Understand lean and be able to apply lean principles.

As GE Vernova is a global organization, working across different time zones, and monitoring, reading and responding to contact outside normal working hours can be expected.
