BGIS is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Sydney CBD team. This client-facing role blends technical expertise with sustainability leadership, delivering innovative electrical, solar PV, energy storage, and building services solutions. You'll work across high-impact projects in healthcare, defence, education, and government-backed by a global industry leader.

Some national travel will be required to support site inspections and project delivery across our diverse portfolio.

What You'll Do

As a trusted technical consultant, you will:

  • Lead and approve electrical design documentation, grid connection applications, and contractor installations.
  • Conduct inspections, compliance signoffs, and manage quality checks for electrical and solar PV systems.
  • Undertake energy audits and asset condition assessments, identifying cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Develop and oversee energy management plans and upgrade projects across large-scale portfolios.
  • Partner with clients to provide solutions, drive energy savings, and create new business opportunities.
  • Ensure technical excellence, safety, and compliance in all deliverables.
What You'll Bring

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Chartered status (CPEng) and NER registration.
  • Desirable: NABERS, Green Star, WELL AP, or other sustainability certifications.

Experience

  • 5+ years in the building services sector (consultancy or contractor background).
  • Strong knowledge of the National Construction Code of Australia.
  • Proven expertise in energy audits, condition assessments, and renewable/solar projects.
  • Confident communicator with ability to lead in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD for electrical design and construction drawings.
