A wonderful new opportunity has become available for a Rural Generalist Nurse Practitioner/Transitional Nurse Practitioner (NP/TNP) located at Cowra.

Cowra Hospital is nearing completion of a major transformation with a new cutting-edge facility that will redefine healthcare delivery in the Central West.

With the $110.2 million Cowra Hospital Redevelopment Project now in its final stages, the new hospital will deliver modern, purpose-built facilities to meet the health needs of Cowra and surrounding communities, both now and into the future.

The new hospital will include:

  • An Emergency Department.
  • A general medical and surgical inpatient ward.
  • A peri-operative service for various surgical procedures.
  • A maternity unit with a dedicated nursery.
  • Ambulatory care for outpatients.
  • An oral health clinic.
  • A renal dialysis unit for outpatient treatment.
  • An oncology unit for chemotherapy treatments.
  • Community Health and Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol services.
  • A medical imaging department with a CT scanner and ultrasound.

As a Rural Generalist NP/TNP you will provide support to Cowra and surrounding towns where required. This may may include Integrated care with Primary Health Network, Emergency, Acute Care, Ageing and Palliative Care, Chronic and Complex Care, Mental Health Care, Women's Health and Child and Family Care.

Rural Generalist NP/TNPs need to be able to manage a broad range of acute and chronic presentations across the lifespan to address patient and community needs. NP/TNPs will receive and make referrals to facilitate integrated care across disciplines or teams.
