We are currently partnering with this very progressive company to find a suitably experienced Financial Controller to join their growing finance National finance team right here in Adelaide. This company has a national footprint and requires an experienced Financial Controller who can bring knowledge, innovation to the team as they continue to grow.

The Position...

Reporting to the CFO the Financial Controller is an integral part of the finance team and is responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial reporting within the group.

This role will oversee the end-to-end accounting function for allocated entities and divisions, ensure compliance with statutory and group reporting requirements, and provide financial leadership that supports commercial decision-making.

The Financial Controller will also act as a key business partner to operational managers, driving performance insights and supporting strategic initiatives across multiple businesses. 

Duties and Responsibilities...

Financial Reporting and Analysis;

• Provide financial oversight for projects, including budget control and performance analysis
• Lead and assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and industry regulations.
• Analyse key financial data including profitability, inventory trends and manufacturing variances.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to support management and stakeholders in decision-making.

Budgeting, Forecasting and Performance Analysis;

• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast process across entities and sites.
• Provide monthly variance analysis against budget/forecast, highlighting risk opportunities and corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain key financial KPIs; e.g. gross profit, F&I penetration, stock turn, labour efficiencies, manufacturing variances and asset utilisation rates.
• Support CFO and Management with strategic financial modelling and scenario planning.
• Accounts Reconciliation and General Ledger Management:
• Tax Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
• Inventory and Cost Management
• Process Improvement and Internal Controls

Who we are looking for...

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller with experience working in a large company with multiple entities within manufacturing or similar environment where cost analysis, budgeting and financial analysis has been a focus. 

The client is looking for someone who has a collaborative, mentoring and coaching approach in regards to finance across the leadership teams and someone who drives this consultative approach within their team.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Current CPA qualification.
• Proven experience with at least 5 years post-qualification experience.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing financial metrics, inventory management, and operational workflows.
• Proficiency in accounting software, Power BI and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy.
• Able to travel within the northern-regional South Australia and Alice Springs on occasion.
