We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Controller to join our team in South Australia. This role is essential to ensuring accurate financial planning, monitoring, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
About the RoleAs a Cost Controller, you will work closely with project managers and stakeholders to develop and manage project budgets, monitor costs, forecast expenditure, and ensure compliance with financial and contractual requirements. You will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the project and supporting decision-making with accurate, timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Budget Development: Collaborate with project teams to prepare comprehensive, realistic budgets aligned with project needs.
- Cost Monitoring: Track project expenses and commitments, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Forecasting: Maintain cost forecasting models to predict future expenses and support planning.
- Variance Analysis: Investigate budget discrepancies and work with stakeholders to resolve them.
- Reporting: Provide regular cost reports, highlighting trends and key financial metrics.
- Change Order Management: Assess and document financial impacts of scope changes.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate budget risks to ensure project stability.
- Proven experience as a Cost Controller or similar role
- Strong understanding of financial management principles and legal requirements
- Familiarity with accounting procedures and cost control systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Cost Controller in mining or construction projects
- Current Driver's License
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Ability to pass a mandatory medical (including Work Capabilities Assessment)
- National Police Check clearance
- Client-approved site access
- Full Australian work rights required
- Contribute to a high-profile project in a challenging and rewarding environment
- Work with an experienced and supportive project team
