The role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified Librarian to join the Knowledge Management Team in Melbourne.
Working as part of a dynamic, supportive team, you will be responsible for providing library and research guidance to internal and external clients, as well as conducting regular group and individual training sessions. If you are looking for a part-time/flexible arrangement we are open to discussing this.
Key Responsibilities
This is exciting role will see you provide effective delivery of library and research assistance to the Melbourne office, including but not limited to:
- Performing legal research tasks for internal and external clients
- Conducting graduate and clerk research training programs, orientations and delivering legal research refresher courses.
- Providing business intelligence research for internal clients including Legal and Business Support teams
- Evaluating products/services as required with the Library Manager
- Participation in national library projects and activities
- Working closely with Knowledge Management Lawyers for their information needs
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Work experience in a legal/corporate environment an advantage
- Confident in presentation skills. The training component of the role includes delivery of group training, presenting in person to groups of 20-30.
- An understanding of research methodologies combined with experience in the use of library collections, databases, internet and other research sources
- Ability to analyse information requests and present relevant findings.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a "roll up your sleeves" attitude
- Attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
- Tertiary qualifications in librarianship or information management is essential
In addition to this, we're looking for a resilient, self-starter. Someone who is able to work autonomously and is focused on attention to detail and providing an outstanding service to our internal clients.
