About Us

We're all here to deliver great retirement outcomes for our members. We have a long history with the University sector and today we're a place where future-minded Australians can all come together. We have a track record of success and a culture focussed on being the best place to work in superannuation. We'll achieve this by bringing our values to life in everything we do - genuine care, being better together and a passion for outcomes. We have a clear plan of what we need to do and want you to help lead that journey.

UniSuper Advice is the Home for Advice Professionals. We provide members with trusted advice that supports confident financial decisions, through personal advice, digital solutions, education and strong partnerships with independent financial advisers. Our work is grounded in professionalism, collaboration, and better retirement outcomes for members.

The Opportunity

Step into a permanent, full-time role where you'll shape the future of financial advice and investment products at UniSuper. As a Research Specialist, you'll be at the heart of our Advice Strategy, Research and Technical team, driving insights and innovation that empower confident financial decisions for our members.

You will:

  • Lead investment-related research, monitoring, and reporting for product lists and model portfolios.

  • Build and automate data dashboards and reporting processes, scaling insights across the business.

  • Manage relationships with external research houses and product providers, ensuring UniSuper's investment options are accurately represented.

  • Produce thought leadership and commentary for advisers, research houses, and internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with investment teams and key partners to deliver high-quality analysis and support.

  • Champion continuous improvement in tools and processes, enhancing the quality and impact of advice.

About You

  • You're passionate about making a difference and thrive in a collaborative, outcome-focused environment. You bring:

  • Experience in financial services, with exposure to investment products, superannuation, or financial advice.

  • Tertiary qualifications in finance, investments, actuarial science, mathematics, business, or law (FIAA or CFA designation highly regarded).

  • Proven ability to analyse complex data, automate reporting, and deliver actionable insights.

  • Experience building relationships with research houses, fund managers, and internal teams.

  • Adaptability, accountability, and a commitment to performance excellence.

Why UniSuper?

At UniSuper, your work matters. You'll feel valued, enjoy a sense of contribution, and see how your expertise shapes better outcomes for members. We offer:

  • Additional leave days over Christmas and dedicated 'Community, Culture & Wellbeing' leave to support your personal and professional wellbeing.

  • $1,500 annually to invest in your growth, plus access to internal and external "lunch & learn" sessions with industry experts.

  • Exceptional parental leave to support employees in balancing their work and family responsibilities.

  • Be part of a diverse team where genuine care, collaboration, and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do.

We believe that the best way to achieve great things is when we come together and collaborate. Therefore, we ask you to be able to commit to 60% of your time in office.

At Unisuper, we celebrate diversity and inclusion, believing that varied perspectives are key to our success. If you're ready to grow your career and make a real impact, even if you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply.
