ASO7 Lead Developer - Full Stack

South Australia Police (SAPOL) provides a diverse range of services to the community. These services are aimed at producing a safe and peaceful environment by the minimisation of crime and disorder. It is a large complex organisation which, because of the nature of its operations, is constantly subject to public scrutiny and accountability. It provides services to a range of different locations (over 100) spread across the State on a 24 hour a day basis.
Program Delivery is accountable for the successful delivery of business outcomes from a large portfolio of projects. It contains both project delivery accountability as well as portfolio governance responsibilities to manage quality, risk, and budget to optimise outcomes from the portfolio as a whole. SAPOL is undertaking a large complex portfolio of work across a range of areas including core infrastructure, business systems and digital transformation initiatives.
This full portfolio has been broken into three sub-portfolios to deliver on the business outcomes, of which the Mobility Portfolio is one.
The Mobility Portfolio is responsible for the delivery of 2 flagship Programs; the Mobile Workforce Program (MWP), which is focused on delivering personally issued mobile devices provisioned with full frontline capability, and the Digital Workforce Program (DWP), which will rollout digital innovation across SAPOL. Together, these programs represent an enterprise multi-year technology transformation program that will usher in SAPOL's future workplace and deliver IT solutions for next generation policing.
Your new role.
The Lead Developer will report to the Senior Project Manager, Application Development and will lead a team of developers to deliver secure and high-quality custom software solutions.
The role involves
- Providing technical leadership to deliver secure, high-quality software solutions aligned with SAPOL's strategic objectives and SDLC practices
- Defining and implementing consistent SDLC processes including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Designing, developing and maintaining web applications using Angular for the front-end and .NET for the backend
- Working closely with business, designers, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Monitoring industry trends and emerging threats to proactively adapt development practices.
What you'll need to succeed
- Lead by example through delivery of exemplary technical expertise and hands-on development.
- Proven experience in software development including secure coding practices, DevSecOps, cloud-based architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in Angular, C#.NET Core, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, and Git.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and Microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of ITIL service management processes and SDLC principles.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills with the ability to present application-based solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to produce technical documentation.
- Ability to foster collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience providing mentorship and leadership to a team of developers.
Salary
ASO7 - $108,109 - $116,864 per annum.
