Having heavily invested in resourcing their product teams to adopt agile practices, HAMBS are accelerating progress towards best practice software development and deployment, with an investment in the new role of Development Practice Lead.

You will be responsible for the day to day leadership of all software development and testing staff across multiple agile product teams, with a focus on mentoring and developing staff as you contribute to building high performance teams.

This role requires a leader with sound foundations in agile software development, and a demonstrated ability to:

- Facilitate individual and team development
- Conduct performance reviews and individual development and training plans
- Monitor staff performance and coach towards high performance
- Champion culture alignment, team work and knowledge sharing
- Ensure appropriate compliance to standards, policies and development practice
- Drive a continuous improvement culture in professional practice and client service
- Manage internal and external stakeholder and vendor relationships

To that end you will likely come to the role with experience as a team leader or development lead. Having moved on from hands on development, you now seek to make your greatest contribution through mentoring, coaching and leading individuals towards high performance. Your success will be determined by an ongoing uplift in the capability and productivity of the developer and testing resources you lead.

Beyond your teams, you will work closely with a broad range of stakeholders including Product Owners, Solution Architects and external resource providers / vendors.

A relevant tertiary qualification is essential, along with evidence of continuous PD related to contemporary software development practice and/or people leadership.
