About Us:
•Changing Tides clinics are located on Sydney's Northern Beaches and the Central Coast.
•We provide highly specialised services to complex cases in the field of disability, such as those living with cerebral palsy, other brain injuries and rare genetic syndromes.
•We love working with high tech assistive communication technology such as eye gaze (e.g. Neuronode) for those who require augmentative or alternative communication options (AAC). So you will have the opportunity for training in this area.
•We are one of the few private practices in Australia who use Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation and sEMG biofeedback in the treatment of dysphagia (VitalStim Plus).
•We offer expertise, compassion, empathy and understanding when providing services to help bridge the gap between ineffective and effective communication and feeding skills.
•Also sharing our clinic spaces are paediatric occupational therapists and an audiologist.
About the Role:
•Depending on your preference, caseload may include speech, language, social skills, fluency (stuttering), literacy and feeding/swallowing
•Multidisciplinary clinic – collaborate with our onsite OTs for a holistic approach to your client care
•Work part time or full time depending on your preferences (our full time therapists enjoy 4 day work weeks/3 day weekends)
•You will have the opportunity to build your own caseload, seeing clients in the fields that you are most passionate about
•Opportunity to be clinic or mobile based (or both)
•Lots of flexibility. We can tailor your schedule around you and your life
•Regular 1:1 supervision meetings, mentoring and support, ongoing professional development and training provided
•Access to formal and informal assessments and treatments
•A lovely supportive team
•Annual interstate travel opportunities (Sunshine Coast, Qld), working alongside a team of paediatric physiotherapists for 2-3 week intensives
About You:
•You have a Bachelor's or Masters degree in Speech Pathology
•You are a SPA member with CPSP status, have your WWCC, police check, and current CPR certification (or able to get)
•You have current Professional Indemnity insurance (or able to get)
•You are fun, playful and have a positive outlook
•You are a keen learner and enjoy ongoing training and professional development
•You can work autonomously and show initiative
•You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills for rapport building
•You have demonstrated experience in the assessment and treatment of a paediatric caseload
•You love a challenge
•PROMPT, Hanen, AAC and/or feeding experience preferable but not essential as we can provide training in these areas
Other Perks:
