About the role

Chocolate Buddha, a renowned restaurant in the heart of Melbourne, is seeking experienced part-time Chefs/Cooks to join our dynamic culinary team. As a Chefs/Cooks at Chocolate Buddha, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering exceptional dishes that embody our passion for innovative Asian-inspired cuisine in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and contribute to the continued success of our establishment.

What you'll be doing

  1. Preparing a variety of dishes to the highest standard using fresh, high-quality ingredients
  2. Ensuring consistency in the presentation and quality of all menu items
  3. Collaborating with the kitchen team to develop new and creative menu offerings
  4. Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient work station
  5. Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
  6. Assisting with inventory management and ordering of supplies
  7. Providing exceptional customer service and contributing to a positive work environment

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef/Cook in a fast-paced restaurant environment
  2. Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine a bonus
  3. Excellent time management, multitasking and problem-solving skills
  4. Passion for creating visually appealing and flavourful dishes
  5. Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure
  6. Commitment to upholding high food safety and hygiene standards
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  8. The position can evolve to full time for the right candidates
