Vanilla is uniquely situated in Eaton Mall, Oakleigh and brings a little bit of the city and Greek culture to Oakleigh over two levels. We are open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Vanilla Cakes and Coffee Lounge is an established and very busy café/restaurant/lounge looking for Cooks and Chefs to join our amazing team. For the role, we require a person with at least three years of experience as a cook in a comparable establishment.

This position is a wonderful opportunity to work with our talented kitchen team and a menu that caters to a café/restaurant/bar and a wide demographic.

The following attributes are the minimum requirements for this position:

  • At least 3 years of highly relevant experience as a cook in a similar establishment
  • Availability to work nights and weekends
  • A passion for and knowledge of Greek cuisine
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Be able to take direction and work well in a team
  • Demonstrable experience preparing, cooking and seasoning a range of foods to a high standard
  • Ensure the quality of foods and the correct storing and cooking temperatures of foods for health and safety
