About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Plant Operator (Excavator, Posi & Roller) to join our team at Australian Ground Technologies' (AGT). As a key member of our construction crew, you will operate a variety of civil plant equipment to support large scale infrastructure & civil projects across Metro Sydney predominately around Western Sydney. You will be part of a retaining wall crew specialising in sandstone log, keystone walls & sleeper walls etc.

What you'll be doing

  • Safely operate and maintain a range of civil construction plant and equipment including Excavators, Posi, Roller, etc
  • Specialising in backfilling- Sandstone material behind retaining walls and achieve desired compaction
  • Specialising in retaining walls such as Keystone, Sandstone, Log walls, Sleeper walls
  • Carry out pre-start checks and basic maintenance on assigned equipment
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and construction teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification
  • Identify and report any equipment issues or safety concerns promptly
  • Comply with all relevant health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years' experience operating an Excavator, Posi & Roller within a civil environment, specialising in retaining walls
  • Current valid drivers license & own transport
  • Construction Induction White Card & Relevant certificate of competency
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, site processes, and quality standards
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safety and a proven track record of safe work practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
