Manager, Sport and Venue Mobilisation

The role facilitates pre-Games training and acclimatisation camps, ensuring athletes have the opportunity to be well-prepared while fostering community engagement and delivering legacy outcomes. Additionally, in conjunction with Sport, this role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to further maximise Games legacy opportunities through activating Queensland's venues and sport programs. Success requires expertise in high-performance and community sports, strong organisational and stakeholder engagement skills, and a commitment to delivering benefits for athletes and host communities delivering legacy outcomes. Reporting to the Director, City Integration, the Manager may also contribute to City Readiness and Operations Program projects and support broader Games Coordination planning
and delivery under the Olympic Host Contract.
In this role you will:
• Develop and implement a framework for coordinating pre-Games training and acclimatisation camps for NOCs and NPCs to deliver the pre-Games Training Program.
• Engage and collaborate with Councils, Sport and the OCOG to maximise legacy opportunities, including the use of State/Council-owned and other local venues and boosting sport participation pre- and post- Games.
• Maintain and update a digital state-wide register of bookable high-performance venues, facilities, and accommodation for visiting teams before and after the Games.
• Support Councils and venue owners in understanding NOC/NPC expectations (in relation to facilities, accommodation, things to do, transfers etc), and promote opportunities.
• Advise NOCs/NPCs (via the OCOG) on pre-Games training venues and facilitate connections with Councils and venue owners.
• Establish a compliance monitoring system to ensure identified venues and facilities meet International Olympic Committee (IOC)/International Paralympic Committee (IPC) standards.
• Monitor and track training camp bookings and provide regular reports on pre- Games Training Program performance, including risks, opportunities and the effectiveness of the digital register.
• Assist in aligning pre-Games training venues and Official Games Training Venues and plan for smooth transition arrangements where applicable.
• Collaborate with the Benefits Realisation program to facilitate data capture as required.
• Manage other sport and venue related projects as required.
• Contribute to a workplace culture based on values and behaviours, ensuring a positive work environment that is safe, healthy, diverse, respectful and inclusive.
