About the role

AGL is transforming how we manage our energy assets as we move toward a cleaner and more sustainable future.

We're looking for a people-centred Asset Strategy Lead to guide our portfolio-wide asset lifecycle planning and uplift capability across the organisation. This role will help ensure our asset management practices are sustainable, forward-looking, people-centred and aligned to ISO 55000 principles.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working with diverse teams and influencing real change - all while contributing to one of Australia's largest energy transitions.

What you'll be doing

  • Setting the strategic direction for asset management across AGL
  • Lead the development of KPIs and maturity measures around asset management performance
  • Owning and evolving the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) and Asset Management Policy
  • Improve and embed asset planning standards, compliance and governance across AGL
  • Owning and enhancing asset planning systems and tools
  • Coaching, mentoring, and facilitating Communities of Practice
  • Partnering with Operations, Engineering, Planning, and Finance to support good decision making
  • Lead system improvement initiatives, ensuring tools support data-driven and risk-informed asset planning
  • Bring external insights back into AGL to uplift our capability
     

What you'll bring

  • Experience in asset management, strategy, engineering or portfolio planning
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Strategic and analytical thinking
  • A collaborative mindset and inclusive leadership style
  • Ability to thrive in complex and evolving environments
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience)
