Brunswick Kindergarten is a long -standing, community- managed, not-for-profit early childhood service offering funded 3 -year -old and 4-year old sessional kindergarten programs. Located in the heart of Brunswick, our service is surrounded by parklands and a strong local community. We are proud to provide Exceeding quality programs guided by the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and the National Quality Standards (NQS) Our curriculum is play-based, inclusive and fostering curiosity, creativity and a love of learning. As a community -managed service, Brunswick Kindergarten operates under a Committee of Management, with the Director overseeing daily operations and supporting a passionate teaching team. We believe the best way to support children is to support the educators and teachers who guide them.

Description
This fixed-term position is for the 2026 sessional kindergarten year, with potential for ongoing employment. The successful applicant will co-lead the 3-Year-Old program in collaboration with an experienced educator, delivering a high-quality, sessional, play-based program for all children. You'll be joining a collaborative team of experienced teachers, dedicated educators, and a supportive Director who works closely with all staff to promote reflective practice and professional growth. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate a sessional play-based educational program consistent with the VEYLDF and NQS.
- Create a warm, inclusive, and engaging environment that supports children's learning and wellbeing.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Contribute to documentation, reflections, and program evaluation.
- Collaborate with co-teachers, the Director, and the teaching team to ensure the smooth operation of sessions.
- Participate in professional learning, reflective practice, and continuous quality improvement processes.
- Ensure all practices uphold Brunswick Kindergarten's values, policies, and child safety commitments.
Selection Criteria Essential:
Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent qualification as approved by ACECQA).
Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
Knowledge and experience in sessional kindergarten programs.
Sound understanding of the VEYLDF, EYLF, and NQS.
Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver a responsive, inclusive, and engaging play-based program.
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a teaching team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with families and colleagues.
Commitment to reflective practice and professional learning.
Understanding of child safety, inclusion, and equity principles within early childhood education.
Desirable:
- Experience in a community-based sessional kindergarten service.
- Knowledge of Brunswick Kindergarten's values and educational philosophy.
- Familiarity with family partnerships and community engagement in early childhood education.

Qualifications
