The Role

Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Secondary Teacher of English to join our Middle School (Years 7–10) at the Keilor East campus for the 2026 school year.

This is a fixed-term replacement position commencing from 27 January 2026 to 11 December 2026 with flexibility in the teaching load:

  • Part-time (approximately 0.75 English load), or
  • Full-time, if the successful candidate offers an additional teaching method—History being particularly advantageous.

We are looking for an educator who brings enthusiasm, expertise, and a commitment to excellence in teaching.

The successful candidate will demonstrate they are:

  • An outstanding and inspiring classroom teacher;
  • Knowledgeable in teaching English and ideally History, with a strong understanding of current pedagogical thinking;
  • Committed to student care and wellbeing; and
  • Dedicated to delivering a high-quality programme.

The School
