About the role
This role is located at our Port Melbourne site.
Qualifications & experience
- Must have material handler and loader operator experience.
- Ability to take instruction and coordinate work activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of recycling industry preferred.
- Must be able to work autonomously.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Sorting and Recycling at Port Melbourne Recycling Centre.
- Conduct daily machine pre-start checks / report of faults and damages on all plant.
- Liaise with site manager to review daily operational requirements.
- Operate heavy plant and machinery in a waste collection / disposal environment – including but not limited to material handler, front end loaders and excavator.
- Focus on waste recycling and landfill diversion practices.
- Follow direction, establish work priorities, and meet targeted deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Complete appropriate documentation in line with position including time sheets.
- Collaborate with other internal staff to create efficient and safe processes.
