Are you a compassionate and dedicated support worker looking to make a real difference? We're seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team and support a young participant living with Angelman Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored care and help enhance the life of someone truly special.

About the Role:

You'll be supporting a complex participant in Ferntree Gully with a variety of daily tasks and meaningful activities, including:

  • Assisting with appointments, daily routines, and mealtimes
  • Personal care (showering, dressing)
  • Engaging in fun and enriching activities like swimming, library visits, cinema trips, and zoo outings
  • Implementing strategies from allied health professionals, including communication support using AAC devices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver person-centred support aligned with NDIS goals
  • Facilitate social and community engagement
  • Provide personal care in a respectful and dignified manner
  • Follow individual support plans and therapy strategies
  • Maintain accurate progress notes and report incidents as required
  • Collaborate with families, team members, and healthcare professionals

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent (essential)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (mandatory)
  • Working With Children Check (mandatory)
  • Experience with intellectual disabilities, ASD, ADHD, OCD, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Fragile X, or Angelman Syndrome is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting others
