About the business and the role
Within this role you will be part of the planning team maintaining our client's critical infrastructure across water networks and treatment plants. If you have had previous experience within the water sector this will be an opportunity to take it to the next level. If however you have gained your experience in a related industry we recognise the value and experience you can bring.
Scope of works will include but not limited to:
- Attend to water network faults and rectify in specified response time
- Meet job response and rectification KPI compliance
- Carry out risk assessment and undertake works in a safe manner.
- Investigate faults
- Rectify faults: Repairing of burst water mains and assisting with shutting off of mains, leaking Services, defective ferrules, domestic services, stop taps, defective hydrants, defective and leaking valves, live tapping and valve installation.
- Perform required labour involved in the maintenance project as part of a crew, bitumen and pavement cutting, excavation and backfilling.
- Provide effective communication and exceptional customer service to meet customer expectations
- Participate in a Daytime, On-Call, afternoon and night shift roster.
Candidate:
While full training will be provided on this role, we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have:
- Hold a trenching and shoring certificate or equivalent is desired but not essential.
- Pre - employment Medical Certificate
- Construction Industry OHS Induction card (White/Blue card).
- Confined Space Entry.
- Non-friable Asbestos Removal.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Medium Rigid (MR) Victorian drivers licence.
- First Aid certificate.
- Traffic management ticket.
- Excavator ticket.
- Good level of physical fitness.
- Working with Children Certificate
- National Criminal History Check .
- Ability to read and implement One Call Plans.
- Demonstrate competence in use of digital communication equipment.
- Demonstrate safety awareness.
- Willing to undertake random drug and alcohol testing.
- You must have the right to live and work in this location to apply for this position.
- A minimum of 3 years field experience in water supply network maintenance.
You MUST have the ability to obtain the above if you don't already have these requirements.
