Field Service Specialist

Metso Bayswater, Western Australia, Australia. The Field Service Specialist - Grinding role is based in Bayswater and involves performing site technical services for Metso products within the Grinding product line, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, retrofitting, troubleshooting, and related spares and wear components.

• Provide technical leadership and coaching of Field Service Technicians to ensure work is carried out to Metso OEM standards.
• Train new recruits as required.
• Travel to customer plants to investigate equipment problems, recommend solutions, or coordinate quotes for new or retrofit equipment with the Aftermarket Services Team.
• Perform necessary adjustments, modifications or repairs on customer machinery.
• Use initiative to take action and develop ideas independently.
• Discuss operating difficulties with customer representatives, explain causes of malfunctions, and suggest prevention measures.
• Prepare reports detailing the nature of service calls and actions taken.
• Recommend product design or service policy improvements based on field knowledge and customer feedback.
• Deliver technical presentations to customers as part of training and development.
• Complete reporting requirements such as progress reports.
• Provide technical liaison between customers, product divisions and sales personnel.
• Provide hands-on mechanical field service work for Metso customers.
• Perform technical evaluations and analyze equipment and component failures.
• Install and commission systems, machinery, and related spare parts and wear components.
• Investigate customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications and delivered condition of products.
• Provide field trip reports in accordance with company standards.
• Promote OEM spare parts and wear materials to customers.
• Determine customer needs and strive for excellence in service.
• Adhere to safe work practices and report unsafe equipment immediately.
• Work within OH&S guidelines and company policies; report accidents and hazards.
• Wear provided personal protective equipment when required.
• Follow Metso's quality system and operate within management policy guidelines.
• Consult with management on OH&S matters affecting the workplace.

• Reports to the Service Manager.
• Collaborates with other Service Technicians, Internal Sales, Project, Account and Product Managers, and Customer Service staff.
• Liaises with the WA Service Coordinator.
