The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Small Engine Mechanic to join our maintenance team on a part-time basis (4 days per week). Full time hours may be considered for the right candidate. In this role, you will service, maintain, and repair a wide range of small-engine equipment that supports our field operations. If you have a hands-on mechanical background, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to safety, this is an excellent opportunity to secure a stable role within a collaborative, safety-focused team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, service, and repair a range of small petrol and diesel engines.
  • Maintain and repair equipment including high-pressure water jetters, pumps, generators, and power tools.
  • Perform scheduled servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer standards.
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate service records and report equipment status to management.
  • Contribute to broader workshop and fleet maintenance tasks as required.
  • Promote and adhere to safe work practices and OH&S regulations.

About You:

  • Trade qualification in small engines (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Knowledge of workshop safety standards and procedures.
  • A team player with good communication skills.
  • Current driver's licence (HR preferred but not essential).
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and detail focused.
  • Additional certifications (Test & Tag, Fire Extinguisher Inspection & Testing) highly regarded but not essential.
  • Experience as a mechanic highly regarded but not essential
