The River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project is the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, and will complete 78km of non-stop, traffic light-free motorway between Gawler and Old Noarlunga. The T2D Project will deliver a wide range of social, economic, environmental and safety benefits, not only for Adelaide, but for all of South Australia.
The Opportunity
The Executive Officer provides high-level administrative, governance, executive support, and advice to the Director, Engineering. The role ensures the effective coordination and management of Divisional activities, supporting the Director to meet business and operational requirements.
The Executive Officer delivers expert executive support and officer duties and will engage with a broad range of stakeholders across the Department and the River Torrens to Darlington Project.
Key responsibilities include Executive Officer duties for key governance committees, administrative support, brief writing, document quality assurance, compliance, and ensuring Divisional reporting obligations are met. The role is also responsible for coordinating administrative, and human resource matters to support the Division's objectives.
Operating with a day-to-day reporting relationship to the Director, Engineering, the Executive Officer works independently in determining priorities, maintaining high work standards, and providing professional leadership and mentoring to staff, and provide general support to the Engineering directorate.
Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to quickly develop business knowledge are essential, as the role must respond to changing business needs and priorities.

Proven ability in delivering customer-focused, strategically aligned services that meet stakeholder expectations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders, negotiate complex issues, and maintain professional relationships.

Strong knowledge of public sector processes such as Ministerial correspondence, and Committee reporting.

Ability to work independently under broad direction, demonstrating initiative, prioritisation, and high-quality delivery.

Advanced analytical and research skills to assess complex information, provide expert advice, and produce clear, timely reports and briefings.

Qualifications/Experience
Relevant business qualifications or equivalent relevant experience desirable.
A current Driver's Licence is essential.
Special Conditions
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
