About the Role

We are seeking a skilled, passionate, and motivated Cook/Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have strong culinary skills, work efficiently under pressure, and maintain high-quality standards in food preparation and presentation. This role is essential in delivering fresh, delicious meals that reflect our restaurant's quality and style.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present menu items according to restaurant standards.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation.
  • Assist with menu planning, specials, and new dish ideas (if required).
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.
  • Follow all food handling, hygiene, and safety regulations (including HACCP standards).
  • Manage stock rotation, labelling, and storage of food items.
  • Assist with ordering and receiving supplies when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
  • Train and support junior staff or kitchen hands when required.

Skills & Requirements

  • Proven experience as a cook or chef (restaurant or café experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work well under pressure during busy periods.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to high-quality service.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $24.95 – $45.58 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
