Empirical Solutions is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support data and analytics initiatives. This is a hands-on contract role ideal for professionals who enjoy technical writing, process clarity, and working at the intersection of data, systems, and documentation.

You will be a key enabler in transforming complex requirements into clear, actionable artefacts that drive successful outcomes across projects.

What You'll Be Doing
As a valued member of our engineering team, you will:

  • Create accurate and consistent technical and process documentation
  • Translate discussions and high-level inputs into structured requirements and deliverables
  • Prepare POC, Pilot, and RFQ documentation, including scope, objectives, success criteria, and technical specifications
  • Develop tender packs with functional and technical requirements, supporting artefacts (e.g., architecture diagrams, current/future state documentation), and support vendor Q&A and evaluations
  • Perform gap analysis of current- and future-state processes, systems, and data flows (ETL, APIs, cloud)
  • Support rollout readiness activities, including data migration documentation, transition planning, and handover artefacts
  • Produce technical diagrams and models such as process maps, swim-lane diagrams, data flow diagrams, and integration specifications using tools like Visio and Confluence

  • A detail-oriented, structured approach and the ability to thrive as an individual contributor
