The opportunity…

This is a rare chance to step into a leadership role at a new and fast-growing, purpose-driven Australian pet insurance company. As the
Head of Sales and Distribution
, you won't just be managing targets you'll be shaping the future of our sales and service experience, leading a newly established team, and overseeing the performance of a product that genuinely makes a difference.

You'll work directly and collaborate with a highly engaged executive team, giving you real influence over the customer journey. This is a pivotal opportunity to shape the future of our sales and distribution function balancing strategy and execution while fostering a culture of accountability, care, and high performance.

This role is based in our Newcastle office, with on-site parking provided.

About the role …

  • Lead and inspire our sales and service teams to exceed sales and retention targets.
  • Build and maintain distribution channels and partnerships to expand market reach.
  • Oversee customer experience and retention strategies, including third-party provider relationships.
  • Partner with marketing, finance, compliance, and legal to align on key initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, risk frameworks, and company policies.
  • Drive operational excellence through coaching, training, and process improvement.
  • Champion the use of technology to optimise lead generation, reporting, and workflow.
  • Provide strategic insights and reporting to the executive team.

About you …

We're looking for a proven sales leader who thrives in high-volume, customer-centric environments. You'll bring a balance of strategic vision and hands-on leadership, with the ability to deliver results through people, partnerships, and process.

  • Demonstrated success leading large sales teams and driving retention outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of insurance or financial services (highly regarded)
  • Background in project management, and customer service excellence
  • Proficiency with lead generation tools and policy management systems
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills
  • A leadership style that balances humility, resilience, and professional will
