The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.

About the role

This role is responsible technical development requiring a combination of technical, analytical, strategic thinking, problem-solving and collaborative skills to deliver robust, scalable solutions using Oracle platform. You will be supporting to design, development, and managing enterprise-level solutions, lead data integrations between applications such as SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle EPM, and Oracle ERP. This role also involves extensive work in data modelling, data management, and data integrations for enterprise reporting using Oracle Analytics cloud.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Leverage knowledge of ODI architectures and components (Repositories, Agents, Designer) and ODI Studio for mappings, packages and load plans, for enterprise-grade solutions.
  • Writing and Debugging ETL functions using programming languages like Java, JavaScript, PL/SQL or Python, and manage database connectivity with Oracle JDBC
  • Design and develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), and related tools to integrate data from cloud applications and on-premises databases.
  • Implement best practices for data warehousing and business intelligence systems. Design and develop comprehensive analytics dashboards and reports using Oracle Analytics Cloud (OACS).

About you

  • Technical Expertise in Oracle Cloud Technologies: Extensive experience with Oracle ODI, OIC, OCI, APEX, and OACS, and proficiency in PL/SQL, JavaScript, and Python for data integration and transformation.
  • Project Delivery and Documentation: Demonstrated success in delivering data integration projects and maintaining clear, structured documentation aligned with project objectives.
  • Support Operations and Incident Management: Experienced in managing ODI support operations, resolving incidents, and implementing preventative measures to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Technical Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Skilled in maintaining accurate technical documentation and diagrams, with a focus on knowledge sharing and continuous team improvement.

Mandatory Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience working as Oracle integration cloud (OIC), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle Analytics Cloud (OACS) preferably having Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certifications.
  • Proven expertise in integrating ERP systems (e.g., Oracle ERP, SAP, Salesforce). Knowledge of Oracle ERP APIs and business process would be preferable.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastruc ture (OCI), Implementation of CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Docker for streamlined deployments and monitoring would be preferable. Strong SQL and PL/SQL programming skills. Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash.
