About the business and the role
Bridgestone Tyre and Auto Launceston is a leading mid size automotive mechanical repair centre in Northern Tasmania. We currently have 14 team members, 9 hoists (up to 6.5ton), and 4 mobile tyre service vehicles.
Our brand is well known for a strong focus on quality products, and a high level of professionalism and workmanship.
We have 2 positions available for light vehicle technicians in a full time or part time capacity
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Diagnosing mechanical faults in engines and components.
- Repairing or replacing worn/defective parts, and reassembling mechanical components, utilizing electronic service manuals as necessary.
- Performing routine maintenance services, including oil changes and belts.
- Repairing or replacing worn and defective driveline, brakes, steering and suspension components
- Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Record accurate details of all services and repairs.
- Collaborate with other team members for diagnosis and task completion.
- Provide clear communication regarding vehicle issues and solutions.
Skills and experience
A minimum of Cert III Automotive trade qualification (no fast track, 6month qualifications will be accepted)
Existing 3rd or 4th year apprentices will be considered if they wish to develop/grow outside of the modern dealership model
Demonstrated repair experience on a broad range of vehicles
Experience with vehicle diagnostic equipment and scan tools
Attention to detail and pride in your work and environment
TAS vehicle inspector accreditation highly regarded
Drivers licence
Australian citizen or permanent resident status
