We are seeking a permanent employee to undertake the position of Site Maintenance Team Member, based at our Bell Bay wood chip Mill site.

Primary responsibilities:

· To provide effective and efficient maintenance of all aspects of the Midway Tasmania Bell Bay dry mill site.

· Work cooperatively with other maintenance personnel and production operators to support plant operation.

· Complete daily maintenance activities on the plant in accordance with Maintenance Supervisors directives.

· Assisting with knife changes & Maintaining knife room. Ensuring Knives are sharp and ready when required.

· Work closely with Bell Bay site Manager to form works program and work in with Midway Tasmania production team to seek advice and guidance for areas which require improvement, repair or maintenance.

· Work safely and follow all safe working procedures. Wear appropriate PPE and Assist other to work safely on the site.

· Promote safe work practices and report any hazards.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Previous experience with chippers and conveyor systems.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Welding fabrication and customisation.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as an effective team member.
  • Onsite training will be provided.

What we would like you to have:

· Trade certificate.

· MSIC card for port access.

· Previous experience with port operations including shiploading/unloading.

· Dogging/Rigging

· Elevated Work Platform

· MR/HR Truck License.

Hours of work:

· Standard hours of work

· Flexibility required to manage maintenance program around working hours of chippers and plant.

· Some out of hours/weekend work required to undertake maintenance and repairs when required.

· Additional overtime is required to meet operational need and ship loading requirements.
