Lutheran Disability Services supports people with disability and their families with accommodation support (including Supported Independent Living) and community participation. We support people to have fun, connect to their community, learn new skills, increase independence and access accommodation support.

Position Description:

The Team Leader at Lutheran Disability Services is a pivotal role that involves guiding and supporting a dedicated team in delivering high-quality services to individuals with disabilities. The position demands strong leadership abilities, effective communication, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor team members, promoting professional development and teamwork.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulations.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies that enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align goals and share best practices.
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide feedback to staff on their contributions.

Main Tasks:

  • Create schedules for team members ensuring adequate coverage for client needs.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and assist in the recruitment of new staff as necessary.
  • Resolve conflicts within the team promptly while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of team activities, incidents, and service outcomes.

This role requires a proactive approach to leadership, emphasizing collaboration, empathy, and innovation in service provision. The Team Leader will play an essential part in shaping the culture of excellence within Lutheran Disability Services.

  • Experience in working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities
  • A track record of promoting a positive workplace culture and enhancing employee engagement
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations relevant to the disability services industry
