Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas criminal law, family law and every day civil law legal issues. We give legal advice, help at court and do family dispute resolution. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our 28 offices.

About the role

As an Assets Administration Officer at Legal Aid NSW, you will play a key role in managing the lifecycle of our ICT assets, both physical and intellectual. This dynamic position ensures that all ICT assets are administered in line with relevant policies, procedures, and compliance standards. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of asset services, supporting stakeholders across the organisation with timely and accurate asset management.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Administer ICT assets (hardware, software, records) in compliance with legislation, regulations, policies, and guidelines.
  • Respond promptly to asset-related service requests from users.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset records using the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Track asset location, configuration, and history to support lifecycle management and reporting.
  • Assist with ICT asset procurement, including forecasting, purchasing, and ensuring contract compliance.
  • Coordinate vendor-related activities such as equipment delivery, setup across sites, and issue escalation.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of ICT systems and tools to improve asset tracking and reporting.

About you

You're an organised and dependable professional with experience in ICT asset management and a strong focus on service delivery. You're confident using asset systems to maintain accurate records, respond quickly to service requests, and support procurement and compliance processes. Comfortable working hands-on, you're physically capable of lifting and moving equipment like monitors and laptops as part of your daily duties. You're available to work four days per week in the office, where your practical approach and attention to detail help ensure smooth operations across Legal Aid NSW.

The essential requirements for this role

You must:

  • be willing to do a Criminal Record Check
  • hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)
  • live in NSW or willing to relocate to NSW
  • Be able to safely lift equipment such as computer monitors
  • Be able to attend the central Sydney office four times a week
