An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join a leading, diversified property and development group. Reporting to Group Services, this role provides strategic in-house legal support across all business units including Development, Construction, Investments, Sales, Finance and Asset Management.

You'll be responsible for reviewing and advising on a broad range of legal agreements, deeds and contracts, ensuring the organisation operates with robust legal and regulatory compliance. This role requires a hands-on, commercially minded lawyer who can balance risk with practical business solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, draft and advise on commercial and development contracts, deeds and consultant agreements
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, corporate policies and governance frameworks
  • Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to internal stakeholders across multiple disciplines
  • Maintain accurate legal records and contract registers
  • Support the business with contract variations, negotiations and dispute resolution
  • Keep the organisation informed of regulatory and legislative changes

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Law and admitted to practise in NSW
  • 10+ years PQE gained in-house or private practice (property, development or construction experience highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated strength in contract drafting and review
  • Excellent written and verbal communication - able to explain complex legal concepts clearly
  • Strong attention to detail, sound commercial judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with the confidence to advise senior stakeholders
