Join City of Moreton Bay as a Technical Officer - Waste Planning and Compliance, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
As a Technical Officer - Waste Planning and Compliance you'll deliver projects, reports and investigations across waste and resource recovery planning, strategies, operational requirements and regulatory compliance.
You'll also work on Waste Services plans, present waste and environmental data to team members and leaders, and build great relationships with stakeholders from the development to the delivery of capital works programs for Council's Waste Services. Other activities include:
- Providing technical advice and support to the development and implementation of Council policies, and to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including reporting of waste levy data.
- Liaise with project stakeholders including service providers, contractors, consultants and federal, state and local government agencies
- Undertake procurement activities including writing specifications, requests for quotation, contractor liaison, contract delivery and invoicing
- Support and train the weighbridge operators, waste facilities staff and contractors regarding the waste levy
- Identify opportunities for Waste Services delivery improvements
- Develop and assist with the delivery of projects to improve waste disposal methods and increase resource recovery.
About you
We're looking for your expertise preparing briefs, specifications and waste project documents, and in interpreting and applying legislation, codes of practice, industry standards, and best practices waste management facilities and operations. You'll also bring:
- Extensive collating, reporting and presenting large, complex data
- Experience working within project management principles
Excellent communications skills to deliver advice, data and reports - Tertiary qualification in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental accounting, geology, or other relevant field (required)
- Current C class driver's licence (required)
- Construction Induction Card (or willing to obtain)
