Position InformationCopacabana Public School, a focal point of its community on the Central Coast, caters for 256 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. This student body includes 5% who proudly acknowledge their Aboriginal cultural heritage and 2% from an EAL/D background. The school has a dedicated teaching team, ranging from early career teachers to experienced staff. Its motto, "Effort Earns Success," reflects a whole-school commitment to learning shared by students, staff, and parents. Quality Literacy and Numeracy evidence-based programs continue to drive teaching and learning within classrooms that focus on student success and motivation to learn. Copacabana Public School prides itself on providing a balanced curriculum, including a variety of extra-curricular which include: a range of sporting PSSA teams, creative and performing arts, debating and public speaking. The school values strong community bonds, including a strong partnership with its P&C (consisting of parents, caregivers, and the wider community). It is also an active member of the Kincumba Learning Community and highly values its positive, consultative partnership with the Tjudibaring Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG).

Demonstrated capacity to inspire and lead a diverse, dynamic staff through highly effective educational practices and continuous improvement, ensuring excellence, equity, and high expectations.
Proven ability to lead, model, and embed explicit teaching, using formative assessment and student voice to drive measurable growth in K-6 literacy and numeracy.
Ability to foster a positive, inclusive culture through visible leadership and strong parent-community partnerships, ensuring whole-school learning and wellbeing frameworks are transparent, embedded, and collaboratively supported.
Demonstrated capacity to implement and promote innovative classroom practice and extra-curricular programs that engage students and enhance opportunities in the four High Potential Gifted Education (HPGE) domains.
High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P1 for 2025 and Principal Level P1 for 2026.
