Joondalup, Australia Department of Water and Environmental Regulation Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

This is a Fixed Term opportunity from December 2025 to January 2027 with the possibility of extension and permanency.

The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to lead the delivery of its Grants and Agreements Program. This position plays a critical role in supporting the objectives of the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030, through the administration of funding programs such as Better Bins and Better Bins Plus. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing governance frameworks, ensuring probity in grant administration, and overseeing a team of four staff members.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Programs, the Program Manager will provide strategic advice on program alignment, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure the effective delivery of program outcomes within defined timeframes and budget parameters. The role requires a high level of stakeholder engagement, including collaboration with local governments, community organisations, and other government agencies.

Applicants must demonstrate experience in budget and project management, leadership and team development, strategic thinking, and high-level communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy in support of government objectives is essential. Desirable attributes include knowledge of contemporary best practices in waste avoidance and resource recovery, and experience in managing waste-related programs.
