The role

As part of our Business Development group, The DevSecOps Engineer will deliver secure Space Domain products throughout the software engineering lifecycle. You will be responsible for the design, implementation and delivery of secure CI/CD pipelines, secure software tools, and monitoring and incident readiness across mainly cloud infrastructure, but also on-premises environments. You will work closely with and support the software and cloud teams in the delivery of roadmap outcomes.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Continuously integrate and deploy Space Domain products to customer environments through the implementation of secure automated pipelines.
  • Monitoring and incident response of deployed products and applications and resolving issues to minimise downtime.
  • Design, implement, administer security tooling such as but not limited to vulnerability management, security testing and product operations monitoring.
  • Support cybersecurity framework assessments of products and provide security reports for auditing and compliance outcomes.
  • Maintain the required documentation suite for the DevSecOps environment and tooling.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to adopt a culture of shift left security, holistic automation and continuous security management.

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9-day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.

About you

Your education, skills and experience will include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in software engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline
  • Experience in one or more of the following:

  • CI/CD tools and pipelines

  • Secure software tooling
  • Application and infrastructure monitoring and incident response
  • Cloud platforms and infrastructure as code
  • Linux support

  • Demonstrated understanding of the building and deployment of containerised applications.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the full software engineering lifecycle
  • Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and secure software development frameworks.
  • Experience in producing and reviewing technical documentation and reports in support of audit and compliance outcomes
  • Experience with greenfield environments, and championing adoption of security early in the software development lifecycle.

As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance preferably to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
