Job Description & Duties
- Assessing and responding to the individual needs of disabled and young people in health care after taking into accounts their cultural aspects.
- Promoting, encouraging and ensuring positive relationships with peers, carers, parents, family members, others and the community.
- Providing opportunities for disabled and young people to experience success and realize their potential.
- Providing support programs, training and educational facilities to enhance disabled and young talent and positively contribute to the community.
- Consulting with other staff, observing and accurately recording disabled and young people's behavior, needs and interactions with others.
- Providing disabled and young people in care with guidance, support, supervision and protection from harm and exploitation.
- Interacting, actively supporting and participating with disabled and young people in a range of recreation, education and personal development programs.
- Actively participating in staff training and development, supervisory sessions, house and staff meetings and other work team activities.
- Referring the disabled and young people to other agencies which may provide the required relief of additional assistance.
- Preparing data, reports and submissions for funding and resources.
- Preparing reports to government bodies and other agencies on behalf of the NDIS employer in relation to work performed at that location.
- Promote development initiatives and collective solutions to address issues, needs, problems associated with recreational, health, housing, other welfare matters associated with aged/disabled /young people in the care of the organization in adult service units, group housing and government institutions.
- Design and deliver active programming tailored to the needs and interests of individuals.
- Develop and manage community programs to assist those in need of services.
- Establish organizational guidelines and regulations to maintain efficiency and compliance.
- Ensure that supports are provided in accordance with the National Disability Services Standards and other relevant legislation and are active in advocating the rights of people with a disability.
- Work collaboratively with other support workers, health professionals, and family members.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
