About the Role
We are looking for Residential Care Officer to work with our participants within the community and Supported Independent Living Homes. The successful applicants will work across a range of services. You will be providing opportunities for our participants to experience life and achieve goals through learning new skills and participating in social and recreational activities.
We have a wide range of shifts available across a seven-day roster, so shifts are flexible and so are we. Hours may vary depending on participant demand at individual sites and centres.
Key Responsibilities for a Residential Care Officer
- Preparing submissions for funding (NDIS) and preparing reports to other government agencies.
- Interviewing clients to determine and assess the nature and extent of their difficulties, developing care plans for them.
- Monitoring and reporting on clients' progress to ascertain whether care plans are effective, and assisting clients with community participation.
- Liaising with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies, and private stakeholders to enhance awareness of community resources and services.
- Referring clients to agencies (e.g., social workers) that can further assist with their care plans.
- Planning, developing, and implementing educational, training, and support programs to help residents develop life skills and foster independence.
- Liaising with families and providing education and care for clients in group homes: ensuring that families are engaged and informed, while delivering high-quality care and support to clients in group home settings
Minimum Requirements:
Drivers License
First Aid/CPR Certificate
National Police Check
Minimum of Certificate III in Disability, Aged Care, Individual Support.
